present this cartoon character
to those gathered at region’s

festival. In this respect,
H.E. Mohamed Naser
Al Ghanim, TRA Acting
Director General, said:
“Supporting UAE’s digi-
tal entertainment mar-
ket is essential to meet
the society’s aspira-
tions and enhance
the economic di-
versification in the
country” adding that
“Rapid digital advancement is of
course welcome however, and it is
critical that those using this tech-

involved with an increasing online
presence”.
A German academic expert said that chil-
dren can learn through computer games
social rules and skills similar to those which
they can learn through football and hand-
ball. Dr. Roland Rosenstock, a professor
at University of Greifswald in Germany,
clarified that “children always learn rules of
any culture through games”. Rosenstock
believes that computer games, such as
backgammon and football, serve this pur-
pose. He observed a remarkable decline
the older generations’ doubt regarding the
impact of computer games on children
compared to the previous generations’
skepticism towards children books, radio
and TV, clarifying that, day after day, to-
day’s older generations are discovering
that computer games are important and
useful for them. Elaborating on the topic,
Rosenstock said: “computer games may
make a kind of balance for disabled peo-
ple because it can make them feel a sense
of movement and allow them cultural hori-
zons that they would never obtain through
the classic methods”.
