As part of the Insurance Authority’s awareness campaigns “Know your Insurance Rights”, the Authority organized a series of awareness workshops under the theme, “The Concept of Insurance” at the HQ of the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department in Abu Dhabi.

H.E. Ebrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of the Insurance Authority, pointed out that the main objective of the awareness workshops is to promote and raise insurance awareness among all segments of the society, in coordination with the strategic partners and concerned authorities in each emirate.

The workshop discussed the unified motor vehicle insurance policy, the provisions to which insurance companies must adhere. As well as, its benefits, how it protects the rights of both the policyholders and the shareholders of insurance companies. In addition to the enlightenment of insurance rights and obligations.

Al-Zaabi added that the lectures and awareness workshops shed light on the advantages of the unified motor vehicle insurance policy of vehicles issued by the Insurance Authority in 2016, aiming to address the problems that existed in the old policy issued in 1987 and the new benefits to the customers and the sector.

Additionally, these workshops highlight the most important pillars of the unified motor vehicle insurance policy regulations and the third party liability insurance policy. As well as, comparing between the most important benefits and provisions of the former policy and the new policy and the advantages of the new motor vehicle insurance policy regulations, which are unprecedented in line with the best international standards.

Furthermore, the lectures discussed the basis of repairing the motor vehicle, the mechanism for cash compensation and resolving disputes, if any. As well as, displaying a series of awareness films produced by the Authority in various areas of insurance.
